Leon Jackson

This week we're featuring X Factor winner Leon Jackson's debut album Right Now which includes current single Don't Call This Love, as our Album of the Week.

Born in Whitburn, West Lothian in 1988, Leon's story is the stuff of dreams.

The shy teenager from a council estate won the hearts of the nation during his time on X Factor with his stunning voice and steadfast determination.

Week after week he proved exactly why he deserved to win The X Factor in 2007, taking every single knock and returning each week stronger and stronger to beat Rhydian in the final.

Before X Factor the only singing experience Leon had was from karaoke. He was the Karaoke King of the Weatherspoons pub in the arcade where he worked in Gap.

Album reviews

Popreviewsnow.com - Leon has certainly grown up and changed a heck of a lot since his first audition, but his voice is still stellar. The genre choice was correct, the first single choice was perfect and the albums tracks are strong. The album is what I expected it to sound like, and a bit more. I never expected to hear one of the most gorgeous songs I've ever heard from this album, let alone two! I think it's safe to say that he's got fame in the bag.

OK! Magazine - At last, the 19-year-old former shop assistant has unleashed this totally superb collection of smooth and catchy songs, which perfectly showcase his rich vocals. From the jazz-influenced Creative to the heartfelt lyrics of Ordinary Days, it was worth the wait. This album proves that Leon is certainly no one-hit wonder.
