All about Jude...
I was born Judith Vause but if you call me Judith I won't respond favourably - it's Jude, please!
I spent most of my childhood entering disco dancing competitions. I once won disco dancer of the year at Pontins, when I was 12. I danced my heart out for 2 hours and won 4 cans of Pepsi - I was shattered!
My earliest claim to fame was meeting the Womble Orinoco at a Christmas fair when I was 6. I went up to him and pulled his furry head off. The actor inside him was not too pleased.
I grew up, somewhat and went to drama school in Leeds... for a week. I was too home sick and thought everyone was weird! All luvvies! I took a year out, studied more and worked in Next. I then went to university in Salford to study media and performance.
I trained as an actress but fell into radio - cutting my teeth as a traffic and travel presenter in ‘the eye in the sky'. There were some very tense, hairy flights during those years - and yes, it was a real plane. A private jet at 21 - brilliant!
During my radio career I've met some great stars - Robbie being the oddest, Kylie being the nicest and Atomic Kitten (in their original line up) being the rudest. I came to Century 5 years ago and love playing great tunes and chatting with my listeners who feel more like old friends. I also still work as an actress and have recently filmed episodes of Corrie, Blue Murder and Shameless - look out for me!
