Will Young on Century Radio
It's 7 years since Will Young appeared on Pop Idol and he has returned to reality television... this time as mentor on X Factor.
He told Ditchy and Salty - while trying to concentrate over the builders doing work at his neighbours' house - that he thought Laura White was the best singer in the competition but that Diana will win it.
He told the pair: "She was my favourite singer... she had the best control of her voice. And I think Diana will win it she is the best pop star."
Asked whether he has been a mentor for Gareth Gates - who was pipped at the Pop Idol post by Will - he said: "No, that would be patronising. He doesn't need advice from me... I need love life advice from him!"
Will has also just appeared on Top Gear.
"I came top of the wet people!" he told Ditchy and Salty. "And it being damp was worse. It's more slidey!"
